When pressure comes up, then the fig leaves – I mean the excuses – come up.
“God, I don’t have time. I’m busy.”
“There’s too much going on.”
“That isn’t what I want to focus on. I need to focus on something else.”
“I don’t have the resources for it.”
“I don’t have enough money.”
“I don’t know enough people.”
“My niche is too crowded. Everyone is a blogger, author, influencer, writer, designer, coach, MUA, [insert calling/niche here]”
“I’m not ready.”
Another thing I’ve had to face is understanding how to share despite my imperfections. Sometimes I’ve thought to myself, Am I really in a place to share when I still have so many problems of my own?
Ecclesiastes 11:4 says (AMP),
“He who watches the wind [waiting for all conditions to be perfect] will not sow [seed], and he who looks at the clouds will not reap [a harvest].”
And if you didn’t get it, it’s extremely clear in the Living Bible (TLB):
“If you wait for perfect conditions, you’ll never get anything done.”
Perfectionism is a pretty way to say you are procrastinating, and procrastination bears no fruit because fear is a killer.
I am a work in progress, God’s workmanship at the very same time.
I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return]. – Philippians 1:6, Amplified
